Update, November 3: Link to a Province article on this story now attached below.

November 1: RCMP Corporal Jim Brown, who earlier this summer was the subject of a media fire storm over his involvement in BDSM, has filed suit against the RCMP informant Grant Wakefield, lawyer Cameron Ward, and two unknown defendants listed as John and Jane Doe in the Notice of Civil Claim.

It was widely expected by those in the know that law firm Harper Grey, which represents Brown, would be filing suit against The Vancouver Sun, Reporter Ian Mulgrew, and possibly other media outlets.

Reached for comment, Harper Grey lawyer Daniel Reid confirmed more legal action would be forthcoming. “We anticipate bringing action against a number of media organizations in the near future.”

Erotic Vancouver is currently reviewing the documents in our possession and will be writing more soon. In the mean time the document is also provided here in PDF format.

November 3: The Province has run a story on this lawsuit. In their coverage they say “The claim alleges that Wakefield made false and malicious statements in a comment on an online article, an email to the writer of the article, tweets and posts on the Re-Sergeance Alliance blog.” Erotic Vancouver is not named, perhaps out of fear they’ll steer traffic to a site so critical of fellow Post Media Property The Vancouver Sun, for it’s role in the Brown fiasco.
