Hot Sexy Events: May 21-27
This week’s Hot Sexy Events would more accurately be labelled the weekend’s Hot Sexy Events. There are only a few things of interest happening earlier in the week that Erotic Vancouver knows about, and none of them quite measure up to the high standard set by this upcoming weekend. So you better start picking and choosing now, or it’s going to be a busy weekend of party hopping for all of you!
The weekend begins with the Revelry – Pirate Party on Friday night. The Revelry Parties are fast making a name for themselves as the place for sexy geeks to meet, and we say that with the utmost admiration. A recent party featured a performance art piece where three sperm swam into the womb and attempted to fertilize a giant balloon egg all to the strains of the Blue Danube Waltz, mimicking the docking scene in 2001 A Space Odyssey. In addition to the hysterical fun and dancing you can expect to find some dungeon play equipment in the back area for the more adventurous or naughty pirates. Details on Facebook.
Saturday, May 26th, Canadian Mayhem’s Queer Spring Fling is happening at The Maritime Labour Centre. While past Canadian Mayhem parties have been women only affairs, their more recent events are inclusively for QUEERS. And as they put it, “By QUEERS we mean all queer identified people 18+ of ALL genders, bodies & presentations.” It promises to be a night to remember. Details on Facebook or visit the Canadian Mayhem website. Better yet, join the Canadian Mayhem Facebook Group and get details on all their upcoming event.
For those who like their sexiness with not a mere dash or dollop of humour but instead with a full heaping serving, no doubt with enough left over to feed you the next day, you’ll want to check out The Wet Spots’ East Side Spectacular! Happening Saturday night at The Rio Theatre, doors are at 8pm and the show starts at 9pm, with a gaggle of fabulous sexy talent in addition to The Wet Spots. Haven’t heard of the Wet Spots before? Well then, it’s time to shrug off that repression and check out one of their songs on You Tube. Might we suggest “Do You Take It?” (Definitely NSFW – of course if you’re visiting Erotic Vancouver while at work you either have a very open minded boss or no sense of job preservation, so perhaps that warning is moot.) You’ll find Details on Facebook.
This Saturday, May 26th, Sin City features another of their renowned theme parties: Fetish Hospital. Expect to see naughty nurses, pervy patients, and decadent doctors hitting Club 23 West‘s two dance floor, or exploring the back room dungeon. Details on Facebook or visit the Sin City website.
Sunday, May 27th, is the second annual Parisian Antique Corset Exhibition and Soiree at Hycroft Mansion, presented by Lace Embrace Atelier. VIP ticket holders gain access as well as a luncheon and a Parisian inspired corset fashion show from 11am to noon, plus a complimentary gift bag, for $100. The less well heeled can purchase general admission from noon until 4pm. The exhibition also includes Madame McRae’s Boudoir photo booth, a silent auction full of treasures, a special selection of vendors, and a cash bar. You’ll find all the details on Facebook.
DON’T PANIC! We’re not done with the weekend’s events just yet. Sunday night it’s Naked Girls Reading Douglas Adams at The Backstage Lounge on Granville Island. Featuring readings by host Diamond Minx, Malvina Masvino, Sweet Sashay, and their newest reader Delilah Diabolic it’s a truly unique event that affords you the chance to impress your mom by telling her you’ve mended your wanton ways and that you went to a book reading on the weekend. Details on Facebook.
Finally two special announcements:
While it might not be a Hot Sexy Event per se, we want to mention another reading happening this week, though not a naked one. Join author Tony Correia at Little Sister’s for the book launch and reading for Foodsluts at Dolly & Penny’s Cafe. Expect lots of laugh out loud moments. Details on Facebook.
And in conclusion, Erotic Vancouver would like to give a shout out to our style and content editor, and my better half, Ange Gordon, who graduates with her B.A. in Philosophy this Thursday [ed note: it’s Friday, actually]. Without her hard (and unpaid) work this column, and indeed this website, would be much less readable. If you find anything on Erotic Vancouver confusing or nearly illiterate it’s undoubtedly something she hasn’t edited.
